"This monotype was awarded a prize for its expressive painterly marks and tonal balance between land and sky. With a mixture of warm and cool colours, the artist has balanced them to achieve a solid composition and dynamism, encouraging the viewer's eye to travel across the landscape and into the distance. The mark-making also captures an energy from being outdoors, something that is hard to achieve in a single attempt"
